Habitual FTP users will know how to get the best out of TreeGUI, a program that acts as a practical graphic directory indexer for FTP.
TreeGUI is a completely free tool that doesn´t take up much space on your hard drive: just over 1MB. It works as a graphic user interface for the classic Tree command in Windows systems, a command to index your folders´content. It can be run on start-up or as a Windows service. It will periodically index the folders you´ve added to the FTP, according to the previously specified time interval.
The TreeGUI program can create index files in each selected folder. It can also create a global index file in the route directory of your FTP. These are some of the main features of TreeGUI:
* Create index files compatible with XHTML, personalizable via CSS.
* Compress large-sized index files.
* Index multiple configuration files at the same time.
* Periodically index according to the user-defined time intervals.
* It can be run as a Windows service: configure it and forget it.
* Support for virtual folders, to make it easier for remote control.
* You can even scan ID3v2 tags of MP3 files to know the bitrate and duration.
